
I invited my friend Todd over to take a look at my options. Here they are:
1. Don't move anything.
2. Refer to option 1.

It turns out the soffit did house the ductwork, as I suspected, but it also encases the support beams for the dining room and kitchen above. So the soffit stays, and I stop wondering if it can moved. Problem solved!
Pffft! Support beams. Bah! Take 'em out!
ReplyDeleteActually, can you thin out that beam's width and match that beam in other locations, you know, make it look intentional like some kind of old school ceiling decorations?
